Meets Increased Demand with
MIRAFLEX Flexo Press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher
LINCOLN, RI – Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation
is pleased to announce the sale of a 52”
MIRAFLEX CM 8-color flexographic
press equipped with TURBOCLEAN, EASY-SET and EASY-REG
to Admiral Packaging
Group of Providence, RI. The MIRAFLEX represents the 8th W&H press
acquired
by Admiral over the companies' almost 30 year relationship.
The MIRAFLEX, which will begin production this month, is part of Admiral's
lean manufacturing initiative. Harley Frank, President of Admiral Packaging,
says, “we are committed to lean manufacturing and eliminating waste.
The MIRAFLEX will help us do exactly that. It is a very production-focused
machine
and capable of quick changeovers. With it, we will be able
print smaller lots with shorter cycle times
and less waste.”
“W&H listens to its customers and over the past couple of years
has really perfected the TURBOCLEAN technology,” remarks Frank. TURBOCLEAN,
an automatic ink supply and wash-up system, runs ink changes in less
than 5 minutes on all decks and has become standard equipment on 90%
of new W&H presses.
In 2009, Admiral was awarded a training grant from the RI Governor's
Workforce Board, which the company has used to train employees in the
practice of lean manufacturing. “Employees are the answer in transitioning
to a lean manufacturing process. The training gives us the tools to
work smarter and recognize how we can eliminate waste in all forms,”
says Frank.
